Brownie

This is the classical brownie, but with differents ingredients. I added toasted haselnuts that give a deeper aftertaste. The classic combination of chocolate and hazelnuts.

Chocolate brownie is a one-layered chocolate cake, typical of the USA cuisine. It is named for its dark brown colour. Sometimes it is covered with a thick chocolate syrup and can contain bits of nuts, chocolate, butterscotch (a kind of crunchy toffee), or peanut butter. It is believed that the first mention of a brownie is in 1896, but this recipe does not contain chocolate, but molasses.

There are three main myths about the creation of the brownie. The first one, a chef accidentally added melted chocolate to cookie dough. The second one, a cook forgot to add yeast  to the dough. And thirdly,  a housewife had no baking powder; It said that she was baking for guests and decided to serve these flat cakes.

It is usually served warm with ice cream, especially for dessert. There are many recipes and variations of this dessert, including, among others, the vegan one.
In Argentina the typical Argentine brownies are prepared with carob flour instead.

Carrot cake

Delicious and mild winter (chestnut or rice) carrot cake. Suitable for celiacs, diabetics, sugar-free diet, paleolithic diet.

The carrot cake is a sweet cake with shredded carrots mixed into the dough. Carrot is softened in the baking process, and the cake typically has a dense and smooth texture. The carrot has been used in sweet cakes since the Middle Ages, when the sweeteners were scarce and expensive, while the carrot, which contains more sugar than other vegetables except sugar beet, was much easier to find. The origin of carrot cake is a mystery. The oldest known recipe dates from 1892, and it is found in the management book of the Kaiseraugst school (Canton of Aargau, Switzerland). According to the Culinary Heritage of Switzerland, it is the most popular children birthday cake in Switzerland. The popularity of carrot cake probably resurfaced in the UK due to sugar rationing during World War II. It was voted the most popular cake in 2011 in a poll of Radio Times in Britain.
There are a variety of carrot cake recipes which include optional ingredients such as nuts, raisins, pineapple or coconut.
